Reader UI of the Week: C. Christian Moore’s PvP UI

Each week, WoW.com brings you a fresh look at reader-submitted UIs. Have a screenshot of your UI you want to submit? Send your screenshots, along with info on what mods you’re using, to readerui@wow.com.

Readers, you are in for a treat this week. Reader UI of the Week tries to bring you ideas, information and discussion from all walks of World of Warcraft life: the raid UI, the Dalaran UI and the minimalist UI. One piece of the user interface puzzle, however, has been missing among my ranks — the PvP user interface. Today, we remedy that omission.

C. Christian Moore, WoW.com’s very own Blood Sport PvP columnist, approached me with a myriad of questions about his user interface. The WoW.com war room is a place of utmost professionalism, dignity and focus — as such, I responded to these questions with detailed analysis. The result is something spectacular.

Sony Teases New Game Reveal Next Week (Maybe About Knitting)

amimono teaser

All kinds of unlikely subjects have been turned into videogames (farming, amusement park management), but knitting has yet remained unconquered…but perhaps no longer? Sony has posted a teaser site for an unnamed new game, with a countdown timer leading to Wednesday night. And so far the only two clues to go on both revolve around — yup — knitting.

The site shows a looping animation of a dapperly dressed man knitting in low lighting, with two other men hidden deeper in the shadows to his side. What’s more, the page is titled “amimono,” which translate into “knitting” in Japanese. No other clues are given, so it’s unclear what team within Sony is even behind this mystery title.

So okay, the moody lighting and dapperly dressed men more than likely suggest the game won’t actually be a knitting simulator (although imagine the possibilities of using two Move controllers as knitting needles), but rather they’re using knitting as some kind of bizarre metaphor at the moment. A metaphor for what? Your guesses are as good as ours for now. All will be revealed Wednesday night, so check back in then.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Premiere Live Blog Next Week

As good as a Call of Duty campaign is, the multiplayer is easily where the lasting power of the franchise lies — it’s the reason why people like Tina Sanchez and Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono keep on playing Modern Warfare 2. And while Treyarch has shown some nifty stuff for single-player, the studio has only released a teaser trailer for multiplayer and has remained silent since then.

Until next week, where Activision is hosting a Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Premiere event. Both Tina and Thierry Nguyen will be in attendance to see first-hand what’s it like to double-stab dudes in multiplayer. We’ll start with the Live Blog (embedded below) of the multiplayer presentation, then we’ll also be posting impressions, footage, and maybe even a video interview. We’re assuming the venue has a decent Wi-Fi signal, but in case it doesn’t, you can also follow the 1UP Live Blog Twitter account

According to Activision, the presentation should begin around 6:00pm Pacific on September 1. Stay tuned to this story.

Reader UI of the Week: Maritime’s UI

Each week, WoW.com brings you a fresh look at reader-submitted UIs. Have a screenshot of your UI you want to submit? Send your screenshots, along with info on what mods you’re using, to readerui@wow.com.

Welcome, friends, to another exciting edition of Reader UI of the Week. Reader UI is all about finding interface setups from WoW.com loyal readers, showcasing them and learning a thing or two from our fellow enthusiasts. In this edition, I’ve decided to pinpoint two interesting features about an admittedly feature-rich interface and go a little analytical. The interface shots show you more than I could say about addon placement, so some analysis was in the cards. Also, people wanted to see a view port interface. You can’t say I don’t listen to my peoples. Let’s get started!
