Nintendo to Reveal 3DS Release Date and Price on Sept. 29

Nintendo 3DSNo, we still don’t know when the Nintendo 3DS will be released or how much it’ll cost, but at least now we know when we’ll know when it’ll be released and how much it’ll cost!

OK, so we kind of hate the “announcement of an announcement” thing as much as the next blog, but this is still probably an announcement a lot of gamers will want to keep their eyes peeled for: Nintendo has told Bloomberg Japan (via GamesIndustry.biz) that the 3DS’s price and date will be revealed in Japan on September 29.

Nintendo has been less than helpful in trying to pinpoint a release so far, as Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last month that the 3DS would be released “next year,” only for Nintendo’s Japanese headquarters to later say Fils-Aime’s comment was a “mistake” (we do at least know it’ll be out before the end of next March in “all major territories”).

NPDs: Nintendo Dominates Top Twenty List

Following yesterday’s announcement of the ten best-selling games in the U.S. in June, the NPD Group has released an expanded top twenty list, revealing quite a few games for Nintendo’s platforms.

In all, twelve of the top twenty games in June were on Nintendo systems, with seven of those being published by Nintendo itself.
